CES 2017
Just returned from CES 2017. Here are the major takeaways: i) Some activity in alcohol bands but all using sweat which has a 30 minute delay and is fairly inaccurate; ii) Quite a few new animal biometric companies; iii) Modules haven’t shrunk at all and most offering burrow into the skin painfully and taking up too much real estate; iv) Real time drone processing getting really good but the power consumption is pretty high reducing battery life. Lots of hype but still just GPU cranking. v) Kopin had a neat new high density micro-display. vi) Lots of robotics hype but mostly cute limited use hobby devices.
